Antonio Zanussi founded the Zanussi Company in Pordenone in Italy in 1916. It began as an individual shop, but soon grew into a large industrial concern that produced a broad range of household appliances. By 1950 it was one of the top producers in Italy. In single oven gas , the company expanded by purchasing Becchi and Castor brands as well as the establishment of a design and research centre. The brand was sold to Electrolux in 1984.
